Client Spotlight: 504LIFE

On Monday, May 4 (5/04), the 504LIFEstream Telethon raised over $22,500 for much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to combat the spread of COVID-19. Kicking off at 5:04 PM and featuring names like Amanda Shaw, Mayor Cantrell, Peyton & Eli Manning, and Big Freedia, all donations from the 5 hour and 4-minute-long livestream telethon went towards PPE purchases for New Orleans’ front-line medical workers.

504LIFE is a group of New Orleanians organizing online telethons to raise funds for the first responders, medical workers, and health organizations who keep our city strong. To garner donations during the 504LIFEstream, they partnered with Foundation for Louisiana and 504HealthNet, an association comprised of 19 non-profit and governmental organizations in the greater New Orleans area which works to connect community members to accessible, high-quality primary care and behavioral health services regardless of their ability to pay.

After having amassed hundreds of thousands of PPE units donated by foundations as a direct result of the livestream, garnering over 1 million views across the multiple platforms, and generating significant national publicity for urgent needs in New Orleans, 504LIFE is not finished. The fight is not over and they are ready to begin work on their next project to help New Orleans stay strong.
