We’re super excited to work with Eliza Restaurant & Bar in Baton Rouge and making this our go-to culinary destination when visiting Louisiana’s capital. Owned by Sally & Russell Davis and named after their daughter, Eliza is a contemporary Creole restaurant that serves high-quality southern favorites and offers a chef-driven menu using locally sourced ingredients for seasonal tastes.
Chef Russell and Sally first met while starting their careers in hospitality at Commander’s Palace in New Orleans. After working nearly every position at the famed culinary staple, Russell opened his own restaurant, Saltwater Grill, in 2004. Eager to return to Sally’s hometown of Baton Rouge, the Davis family moved back to Baton Rouge to begin the next chapter in their culinary journey with Eliza in 2016.
Having continued operating and delivering food throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Eliza offers a full range of offerings; from lunch and dinner to a boozy Sunday brunch, Eliza serves delicious (and many gluten-free) options for everyone. Check out their new Summer 2021 menu.
This August, Eliza will offer a special menu from August 12th through the 15th in honor of Julia Child’s birthday, featuring delicious dishes inspired by the iconic life of America’s favorite chef. The inclusive menu sports a French Onion Soup, served with fresh French bread and melted gruyere, Coq Au Vin cooked with burgundy sauce, lardon, mushrooms, and parsley potatoes, and finishes with a Blueberry Clafouti for dessert.
Eliza also features a Yellow Label Lunch from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM every Friday which include $12 glasses of Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne with the purchase of a lunch entree. Additionally, guests can enjoy half-price bottles of wine every Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Eliza’s wine menu offers 18 house wines and flavors from around the world.
