Our Clients Serve: News Round-up
See How our Clients are Serving Their Communities
Despite being faced with uncertain times, our clients have stepped up to serve and assist everyone from healthcare workers to artists. Whether through food, music, or fundraising, take a look at how our clients are taking the initiative to provide aid and show appreciation for the people who keep our communities ticking.
When times are stressful, turning to music is a surefire way to help ease one’s worries. In addition to setting up the Legacy Emergency Relief Fund which provides direct assistance to its 60-member Musical Collective, Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s Ben Jaffe has taken it upon himself to help spread a message of encouragement to the New Orleans community and beyond. As Stay at Home orders were first announced, Jaffe began performing the spirited “Keep Your Head Up” tune every evening from his home studio, urging his followers to connect their community through music. Now, an updated version of the jam with NOLA’s own Pell is available to stream to help continue to connect us while we’re apart.
Now more than ever, it is imperative to show appreciation for the essential medical personnel who work tirelessly to fight for our well-being. Partnering with the Louisiana-based fundraising initiative BR Answer the Call, Beau Box Real Estate and Property Management has worked to deliver over 1,000 boxes of Raising Canes chicken fingers to frontline medical workers. Medical centers served include Our Lady of the Lake, Ascension, Livingston, North Baton Rouge, and Children’s Hospital.
Part of the Ballard Brands family, WOW American Eats has partnered with Super Bowl champ and New Orleans native Peyton Manning and his foundation to deliver nearly 2,000 meals to Ochsner Health campuses in an effort to support frontline workers battling COVID-19. Recently, the WOW team was joined by WGNO during one of their deliveries. Check out the segment here.
In a time where paychecks are uncertain and planning a grocery trip is no simple task, Ballard Hospitality, part of the Ballard Brands family of businesses such as PJ’s Coffee, WOW American Eats, and New Orleans Roast, has stepped up to the plate to provide Louisiana’s children with over a million nutritious meals and counting. Delivering and distributing shelf-stable boxed meals, Ballard has teamed up with school districts across the state to ease the burden placed on parents during this difficult time. In addition to their work with schools, Ballard Hospitality and Ballard Logistics are also assisting with feeding and meal programs at the Convention Center with their 2000 person make-shift hospital. Looking to serve those in need while also providing jobs for their employees, the team at Sofia NOLA has launched “Sofia Serves,” a GoFundMe campaign to help support doctors, nurses, and frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19 by expanding food deliveries to local hospitals. Their goal is to provide meals free of charge for those medical professionals serving the New Orleans Community. WWLTV’s Eric Paulsen spoke to Billy Blatty to discuss their efforts – check out the segment here.
